NEW TARARUA HUT

Though permission has been given the Tararua Tramping Club to rebuild the State Forest hut on the Cone saddle it has decided not to do so, but to build in the upper Tauherenikau Valley, on the east bank of the river. The new hut will be of totara slabs 14ft by 15ft, with iron roof, concrete fireplace,' bunks, two windows, and a skylight. Work on it will begin this winter. -
