FRENCH TRIALS
DE BRINON CHARGED WITH HIGH TREASON Rec. 10.40 a.m. PARIS, May 2u The former Vichy Ambassador tc Paris, Fernand de Brinon, with his wife and Dr. Menetrel, formerly Marshal Petain's private doctor, have been imprisoned in Paris after being captured by Allied troops. De Brinon is awaiting trial on a charge of high treason. Two brothers were each sentenced to two years' imprisonment after the first trial in France for economic collaboration. They had been convicted of manufacturing camouflage netting for the German navy, by which they made a profit of £70,000. Paris radio stated yesterday that Pierre Laval had arrived at a French port after being handed over to the British Navy by the Spanish authorities.
