FRENCH OCCUPATION ZONE

LONDON, May 19. It is announced that the United States 15th Army, which was in reserve in the last battles in Germany, has been allotted the occupation ot 14.000 square miles of Germany, including the rich Saar Basin, the Rhine Valley, and the western half ol the Ruhr industrial area. General Eisenhower's headquarters emphasised that this zone is merely temporary, pend ng later decisions. The American action in moving into the Saar will not piejudice the French claims to the area.
