N.Z. WAR PRISONERS

Up to Friday morning last a total of 1250 New Zealand prisoners of war had arrived in the United Kingdom after being liberated in Europe, stated the Acting Prime Minister (Mr. Nash) last night. Of that number 215 were in hospital. Mr. Nash said that this information had been received from the New Zealand High Commissioner in London (Mr. Jordan), who had added that in the 24 hours ended 6 o'clock on Friday morning 128 released New Zealand prisoners of war had arrived in the United Kingdom. "This information shows that there is a progressive and steady movement of our men from the Continent to the United Kingdom/ said Mr. Nash. "This is most reassuring news."
