German resistance has completely collapsed. More than 13,000 panic-stricken German troops streamed out from positions near the Russian lines and "infiltrated" into American prison cages. Some members of the Luftwaffe flew to the American lines to surrender.
War correspondents with the Ist Army^ have ibeen: ordered to remain west of the Elbe and not to visit the Russian lines,,except.wheri accompanying an official party;. This ruling was made at the request of' the Russians, who' do not allow correspondents to move as freely a§ the American armies do.
