ADDRESS TO LONDON

MAIL FOR WAR PRISONERS The Acting Postmaster-General (Mr. Jones) stated today that there was now little prospect of any prisoner-of-war letters being delivered in Germany, and he advised persons communicating with prisoners who have not yet been reported as having been released to address their letters to the care of the New Zealand Army Post Office, 35 The Strand, London, WC2, where they would be held and delivered to the addressees on their arrival in England. The letters should bear the addressee's service number and not his prisoner-of-war number. The Minister also stated that parcels bearing German prison camp addresses which were at present on hand in London or in transit to London would, as far as practicable, also be held there pending the repatriation of the prisoners.
