Hall, Allen St. (opp. Paramount, Courtenay PL), Sunday, at 7 p.m. Subject: "The Thief on the Cross." "Lord, remember me when Thou comest into Thy Kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, "Verily I say unto thee, This day (the Greek original is "semeron ) shalt thou be with Me in Paradise. (Luke 93 -4-1-43 ) The object Of this Lecture is to show that as neither the pagan doctrine of the immortality of trie soul nor heaven-going at death is taught in the Holy Scriptures, it follows that there is no support for these beliefs in Christ's promise to the thief on the cross. It will be shown:—(l) That neither the thief s petition nor the answer of Jesus referred to heaven but to the day when Jesus will come into His Kingdom. (2) That all the Scriptures definitely teach that Jesus will not 'come into His Kingdom" until His personal return to the earth, at which time the Lord's Prayer, will be fulfilled—"Thy Kingdom come, Ihy will be done in earth." (2 Tim 4:1, Luke 19-12 Matt. 25:31, Dan. 7:13-14, Luke 19:12, Matt 25:31, Dan. 7:13-14, Matt. 6:10, Rev. 11-15 Dan 2:44, Acts 17:31.) (3) That meantime "the thief" and all the dead "sleep in the dust of the earth" (Dan. 12:2) and "know nothing" (Ecc. 9:5) until "the resurrection of the dead" at the second coming of Christ. (Acts 24:15, 1 Thess. 4:16, Rev. 11:18; Luke 20.35-36.) (4) That then will those accepted by Christ "inherit the Kingdom," becoming His co-rulers on earth. (Matt, 25:31-34, Matt. 13:43, Luke 12:32, Jas. 2-5 Luke 13:28, Dan. 7:18, 22, 27, Rev. 3:21, Rev. 20:6, Rev. 5 :9-10, Rev. 2:26, 1 Cor. 6:2, etc.) (5) That in view of the untold blessings revealed in the Scriptures for "all families of the earth" during Christ's coming reign on earth it follows that Christ's reference to it as "Paradise" was most appropriate. (Numb. 14:21, Psa. 67:4, Psa. 72, Isa. 2:2-4; Isa. 11:1-10, Isa. §5:17-22, Matt. 19:28, Luke 2:14, Acts 3:19-21, Acts 17:31, etc.). Questions invited. No collection. If unable to attend, write "Bible Truth," care J. H.'Fullwood, 40 Copeland St., Lower Hutt, for Free Literature. NIMMO'S HALL, Bond St. (opp. Majestic Theatre).—Tonight at 7.30, a Meeting under Assemblies of God auspices, to which all are invited. "Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane." Hear Clarence Wickenden give Scriptural evidence of one Throne that endures. His subject is: "The Throne of Christ: where is it? Is it the Throne of God?" You are warmly invited to these profitable Saturday evening meetings.
