LONGER LIBRARY HOURS

In the course of discussions of library matters at the meeting of the City Council last night, several councillors expressed .themselves as very much in favour of longer library hours particularly in the evening, so that better use could be made of the facilities and the service to the. public be widened. Replying to Councillor F. W. Furkert's formal question, at question time, whether' something could not be done at once about library hours, the chairman.of the committee. Councillor W. J. Gaudin, said that the committee would look into it and would report to the council at the next meeting. Councillor W. H. Stevens remarked that staffing was no longer a difficulty, as a full staff was again available.
