ELECTORS' ASSOCIATION

A meeting of the executive committee of the Greater Wellington Electors' Association was held on Tuesday evening, Mr. H. R. Searle presiding over a good attendance. The draft rules and regulations of the association will be submitted for confirmation at the annual meeting. Mr. H. J. Wynne was elected president to fill the vacancy caused by the death

After a general discussion on policy matters, the following resolution was carried: "That the executive committee warmly approves the progressive policy of the City Council in calling meetings of representative citizens to discuss fully the large projects which are contemplated, particularly in regard to the development of Rongotai aerodrome, civic square, zoning, slum clearance, and transport." It was felt that the time was ripe for a comprehensive plan to be put forward if Wellington was to progress as it should in the post-war years. Appreciation was expressed of the action of several suburban associations in acceding to the Mayor's request to set up working bees to clear up overgrown areas which are regarded as a fire menace.
