ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Judging by tho form 'shown by many of the intending competitors, the New Zealand senior amateur athletic championships, which start at the Basin Reserve tomorrow afternoon, should produce contests for the various titles quite as good as at pre-war meetings. The championships begin at 4.45 p.m. tomorrow when heats and the mile championship (which J u'v .»•■ 8 P-n».) and some other titles will IP? .decided. ■ .It .is expected that the finish in the mile will be between R. Geddes (Wellington), N. Ambler (Auckland), .T. Oakley (Canterbury), and- W. Wells (Wanganui). Saturday's. proceedings will' open at 1.45 with tno start of the marathon race of 20 miles <ss : i yards, and at 2 p.m. the grand parade of competitors will ...take place. The cycling events have filled well and Interesting <-pmpetlttpn is expected in this section. In the tract and • field \ events, strong teams from outside Wellington will be competing: Boys1 girls' and women's events are 'included in'the pro-1 grnpnne. The competitors will Include K.
