MAORI BY-ELECTION
OFFICIAL COUNT OF VOTES
■ The result of the official count of votes in the Western Maori by-election held on February 10 has been to increase the majority of the successful candidate, Mr. M. Ratana (Official Labour) over Mr. Pei te Hurunui Jones (Independent) from 1787, on the preliminary count, to 1789. The official declaration of the voting is as follows: — M.
