NEW ZEALANDER ATTACHED ! A New Zealander, Lieut-Colonel Bull, N.Z.M.C., is the camp representative of the prisoners of war reserve hospital at Elsterhorst, says a report . from the International -Red Cross to | the Prisoners of War Inquiry Office. I The hospital was visited at the' end of October and was reported to specialise jin the treatment of tubei-culosjs and to be conducted excellently. The reserve of medical supplies was more than sufficient to cover all requirements. The Ked Cross delegates also visited two prison camps, Stalag IV A and Stalag IV C during October. At the first, camp there were 76 New Zealanders and 46 Australians among the 25,000 prisoners. The camp staff was endeavouring to build up a reserve of clothing to meet the requirements of prisoners captured on the Western J Front. At Stalag IV C the 26,000 prisoners included 29 New Zealanders. The report said that the British prisoners there were well clpthed and the general health of all prisoners was good, there being a doctor attached to each - large working party. The men were allowed one free Sunday each month, and full precautions were being taken against the possibility of bombs from Allied planes falling on the camp or working detachments.
