MORE WOMEN FOR ARMY

LONDON, December 28. With the British Army setting out to find 250,000 more front-line troops, the women's section of the Army, the Auxiliary Territorial Service, is also to expand.

In the New Year Avomen may volunteer for the A.T.S. from the age of 17i up to 35, instead of from the present age limit of 19. They will not be able to join the Army from munitions work unless they obtain permission, and there are some other occupations, such as nursing, which they may not leave.

The new recruits are needed to release soldiers from clerical work, and many will be required for service oversea?.
