HEADQUARTERS REPORT

LONDON, December 28. Today's communique from Supreme Headquarters says: "Allied forces in Holland continued to encounter active patrolling by the enemy along the Maas north of Tilburg and north of Venloo. The enemy made a small local attack at Gerbroek, three miles south-east of Maeseyck. Our troops after a slight withdrawal counterattacked and regained their original positions.

"The Monschau-Malmedy sector remains quiet, both sides carrying out active patrolling. The enemy attacked a number of places on the north flank of his salient, and heavy fighting continues at Grandmenil and Manhay. We repulsed strong German attacks
