LOOKING FOR FIGHT

LUFTWAFFE'S ACTIVITY LONDON, December 17. The correspondent of the Associated Press of America at Supreme Allied Headquarters, says that fighterbombers of the Ninth Air Force shot down 110 German planes yesterday for the loss of 35. The Luftwaffe came out in strength for the first time since the landings six months ago. It is estimated that 550 German fighters and bombers appeared over the First Army front and the southern edge of the Ninth Army front. The Germans have used at. least six types of planes over the battiefronts in the last 24 hours. They have obviously saved up all their aerial resources for the present offensive. One of the most outstanding features is the fact that the German pilots are actually choosing to give combat when outnumbered.
