MACARTHUR'S PLANES OUT Rec. 9 a.m. WASHINGTON, Dec. 6. Our fighters continued their attacks against stores and communication lines in the enemy's rear, and sank a small freighter in Ormoc Bay, says General Mac Arthur's communique. Naval units bombarded shore targets and intercepted and sank a south-bound freighter near Masbate.
Patrol planes attacking enemy, shipping off the south-west coast of Luzon strafed two coastal vessels and sank a destroyer. Others harassed Manila aerodrome and destroyed a barracks at Fort Stotsenburg, to the northward.
Heavy units from Palau dropped 24 tons of bombs on Larug and aerodromes on Cebu, damaging buildings and supply depots. . Fighter-bombers cratered Masbate airfield. Patrol planes sank three small freighters in the Sibuyan Sea. harassed Negros aerodrome, and shot down an enemy float-plane.
Patrol planes sank a 3000-ton tanker off the north coast of Borneo and a small freighter at Brunei Bay, damaged another at Kudat, strafed barges near Darvel Bay, and, in a 75-minute air battle, destroyed three and probably destroyed one of 10 enemy interceptors over Balik Papan.
