MODEL MINE

Coal miners the world over are noted for tiieir industrial belligerency, but there is one mine in New South Wales which has not had a strike for 15 years. It is at Kandos and the tnihers claim that the working conditions and relations with the management are the best in the country. The pit extends underground only 100 yards and the men can eat their lunch in the open air. Ventilation and bathrooms are excellent. Machines bore, cut, and load the coal, and locomotives bring it out.
