AUSTERITY CORSETS. ' RESTRICTION ON RUBBER. The biggest wartime headache for corsetieres has been the shortage of elastic, which forced industrial legislation to restrict the amdunt in any one corset to a specific number of inches. This drastically reduced the flexibility of Berlei foundations. But when it is understood that only the exigencies of war have ■ caused this, women will assuredly accept it in the same good spirit in which they have accepted the scarcity of Berleis while the factory concentrates on clothing for the Forces. Berlei's more intricate shaping helps out the loss of elastic. But only when the right fitting is worn. Better buy none than buy the wrong one. Berleis fit closely, following every subtle variation of figure type. A wrong fit, therefore, is no more satisfactory in a Ber- ! lei than, in a shoe.
