CITY MISSION FAIR

MUNITION WORKERS HELP

Munition workers from the Ford factory had a large audience at the Town Hall on Saturday night for their concert in aid of the Wellington City Mission's Victory Fair. More than 3000 people attended, and others were unable to gain admission, and during the interval.the Rev. H. Squires thanked the company and its staff, 175 of whom participated, for their assistance.

The opening feature was the appearance of the marching team in white satin uniforms, and the choir of 150 in blue munition overalls, played on to the stage by the Band of the Wellington Regiment, whose ceremonial red uniforms added to the colour of the spectacle, which formed an effective presentation of patriotic colours.

The show, rehearsed in the spare time of the company's employees was produced by Mr. Ivan Perrin. who also wrote the words and music of several of the numbers. Mr. G. H. Jackson, general manager of the company, congratulated the performers on their work and presented bouquets and sprays to the girls who took part.
