Mr. J. E. Thomas is relinquishing his position as Food and Rationing Controller on December 15 for health reasons. During the war period Mr. Thomas has been responsible for the organisation of food and rationing control, involving, in addition to the maintenance of civilian food requirements, the supply of food to New Zealand and United States forces in the Pacific as well as the development and administration of the rationing of food and clothing. »
