LYALL BAY'S FINE RECORD
The fourth annual meeting of the Lyall Bay branch of the Women's National Reserve was held recently at Mrs. Dunn's residence, Queen's Drive. Mrs. F. Porter, Dominion secretary, was in the chair, and in seconding the adoption of the report and balancesheet, paid high tribute to the leader, Mrs. Dunn, and congratulated the branch, which in eight months had raised £431 17s.
Special guests were Miss Sheppard, secretary Residential Nursery, and Mesdames A. Collins, Allen, and Witt.
The election of officers resulted:— President, Mrs. A. Dunn; secretarytreasurer, Mrs. W. Maxwell; vice-pre-sidents, Mesdames Bradley and Stirrit; committee, Mesdames Fyfe, Delmonte, Marshall, Thomson, Cross, Robinson, Bradley, and Stirrit.
The following donations were made for November: —£10 each to Makogai Lepers, Wellington Free Ambulance, Red Cross Society for prisoner of war parcels, Merchant Navy, Metropolitan Patriotic Committee; £5 each to Newtown branch R.S.A., Kilbirnie branch R.S.A., and St. John Ambulance.
At the conclusion of the meeting Mrs. Dunn sang some delightful songs, accompanied by Mrs. Collins. Afternoon tea was served.
