BATTLE FAR FROM EASY

Rec. 12.30 p.m. RUGBY, October 16. Commenting on the progress in the Breskens pocket, a senior staff officer on Field-Marshal Montgomery's headquarters warned that reports of crammed enemy barges operating between the pocket and the Dutch islands, suggesting evacuation, must be regarded with the utmost caution, says a correspondent with the British forces. "The battle is still far from easy," said the officer, "for the enemy shows no signs of pulling out or of disorganisation."—B.O.W.
