FOOD FOR GREECE
CONSUL-GENERAL'S THANKS
.• The Consul-General, for Greece in Australia, Mr., Vrisakis, has expressed on behalf of his Government their, thanks; for the gifts of food, to Greece from the Government in New Zealand. In a message to Mr. T. E. Y. Seddon,-Consul-General for Greece in New Zealand, Mr.-Vrisakis, says:—
"Kindly transmit personally the following message to the Rt. Hon. P.: Fraser, Prime Minister of New Zealand:—'The Australian people and myself are deeply touched by the generous gesture of your Government in sending important and ample relief tp Greece. This is further proof of the undying, friendship between our 'respective people whose gallant sons^ fought and fell side by> side in Greece and Crete.'" ' > . :
Mr. Seddon adds: "May I, •on behalf of the Greek residents in New Zealand, express to you their deep appreciation of your prompt dispatch of food to their countrymen in Greece. The gift will do much to alleviate the suffering of the heroic people of that heroic country, and also: further strengthen the bonds of friendship between Greece and New Zealand."
