JAP GAINS IN KWANGSI

CHUNGKING, September 30. *n -i Ja Panese have reached a point 30 miles north-eastward of Kweilin m Kwangsi Province, southern China, and the advanced American air bases at Tangchuk and Pingnan, 130 miles south of Kweilin, says the Chinese High Command.

A correspondent of the United Press of America says that another Japanese column flanking Kweilin, on the east pushed further south of Linshukwan, closing to less than 100 miles the gap separating it from enemy units w^H 3316™ Kwangsi, and increasing the danger of China being split from north to south. p
