CHINESE INDUSTRY
DEVELOPMENT FOR WAft WASHINGTON, Sept. 24. Mr. Donald Nelson has returned from China carrying Marshal Chiang Kaishek's approval. of -President RooseV yelt's plans to throw China's ' indus- - trial strength into the war against Japan. A War Production Board ~ * spokesman said that details of the mission must be withheld until Mr. Nelson had a conference with Mr. Roosevelt. However, it can be said that he received good co-operation from the Chinese Government, and is ■ convinced that othe Chinese are determined to make a just contribution industrially to the war against Japan.,
■ The Canadian Bureau of Statistics •estimates that 'the 1944 wheat crop to be approximately 448,000,000 bushels, Avhich, is the third largest in the war period. This exceeds 1943 estimate by 154,000,000 bushels.
