ST. JOHN'S CHURdH

There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the congregation of St. John's Presbyterian Church this week. In moving the adoption of the annual report, Mr. Alex Martin referred to the' influence of the war on the work and paid a tribute to the efforts of the minister, the Rev. P. G. Hughes, the, choir, and other church organisations. In seconding the motion, Mr; H. B. Smith en-1 dorsed the optimistic tone of the report and drew attention to the tremendous responsibility that rested on each individual. Mr. F. C. Spratt, moving the adoption' of the financial statement, out that, although there was a small increase in the overdraft, this no doubt was the result of so many i members being overseas.
