CALL TO PRESBYTERIANS

PA AUCKLAND, August 18. The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, the Rt. Rev. D. C. Herron, has issued the following appeal in connection with the special day of prayer on Sunday, September 3:— "The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand calls upon the congregation of that church, in obedience to the appointment of his Majesty the King, to make Sunday, September 3, a day of prayer and dedication. ' Throughout this Dominion, as throughout the Empire, in days when, at least in the west, the war seems moving towards its close, there needs to be awakened anew the realisation that only as we seek and obey the guidance of Almighty God can our nation and her allies hope to maintain unity of purpose and be given wisdom to deal aright with the stupendous problems confronting the United Nations. Let us pray that the days of bloodshed and destruction may be shortened and that God? will give the leaders and people humility and right judgments concerning the future."
