The Roman Catholic Bishop-Elect of Christchurch (the Rt, Rev. Patrick Francis Lyons, D.D.) will be consecrated in Melbourne on Sunday next and enthroned in Christchurch Cathedral on Sunday, August 6. The consecrating prelat: next Sunday will be Archbishop Mannix, of Melbourne, and the co-consecrators will be Archbishop Beovich, of Adelaide, and the Coadjutor-Bishop of Dunedin (the Rt. Rev. Dr. O'Neill). The CoadjutorBiohop of Melbourne (Archbishop Simonds) will preach the occasional sermon. Three priests from the Christ-j church diocese, the Very Rev. Father J. Long, Father J. Hanrahan, and Father T. Brown, the last-named a cousin of the new Bishop, will attend the service of consecration.
