OVER 5000 WOUNDED

EVACUATIONS BY AMERICANS Rec. 11 a.m. LONDON, June 25.

More than 5000 wounded were evacuated by sea from the United States beach-heads in France in the first 18 days of the invasion. Five hundred of them were Germans or' foreigners serving in the German army. Captain George Dowling, of the United States navy, said: "We were able to handle the job successfully because we were ready for the worst which happened.
