YUGOSLAV FUNDS

SEIZED BY MIKHAILOVITCH Rec. 9 a.m. LONDON, May 29. Yugoslav officers loyal to General Mikhailovitch seized in Cairo Yugoslav Government funds amounting to 30,000 dollars, and also 233 gold coins, states a report received by Yugoslav circles in London. The Deputy Minister of Finance in Cairo, Dr. Mirosevic, after King Peter's dismissal of the Pourich Government, ordered the cashier at the Ministry of Finance to hand over the funds to representatives of Mikhailovitch in Cairo. The cashier refused, and officers of Mikhailovitch entered the Ministry of Finance and attempted to seize the funds by force, but were prevented by other Yugoslav officers. Dr. Mirosevic thereupon dismissed the cashier, who was forced to surrender the keys of the treasury to a Mikhailovitch officer, who seized the funds.
