ISSUE STILL IN DOUBT Pastrycooks in* Wellington helve received no notification so far that mince and pie meat used in the manufacture of meat pies will be subject to coupons under the recent additions to the rueat rationing schedule. Several firms stated today that they presumed they would continue with the quota system under which they receive their meat and that the ''extra rationing would apply to sales at butchers' shops only. Under the former arrangement manufacturers of .neat, pies were allowed meat up to 60 per cent, of the quantity they consumed in the twelve months prior to the introduction of rationing. Rationing had not resulted in coupons being required for steak and kidney pies, but in a majority of cases the steak used was from cuts which'were coupon-free. The new regulations affect this type of meat, but manufacturers have received no instructions ' from the Rationing Controller.
