OBITUARY

MR. L.H. ARCUS The death has occurred in Wellington, of Mr. Laurence Herbert Arcus in his 59th year. Born at Nelson, he was a member of a,well-known Wellington family. Entering the teaching profession he was successively at Mt. Cook, Lyall Bay, and Ohau Schools before becoming headmaster at Landsdowne School, Masterton,. and then headmaster successively at-the Seatoun, Brooklyn, and Berhampore Schools. He retired last year, after teaching for 43 years. Mr. Arcus was a member of the Manchester Unity Lodge of Oddfellows., He is survived, by Mrs. Arcus. and eight sons and daughters. There are seven grandchildren. ..
