POLES ASSIST RUSSIANS
Rec. 11 a.m. RUGBY, April 7. Detailed reports of the contact established by the regional commander of the Polish underground army in Volhyriia with the Soviet command on that front have reached the Polish Government in London. ' , On March 26 the regional commander was invited to headquarters of the \Soviet army group and made acquainted with the. principles of cooperation as sent by the Soviet authorities from Moscow. He asked for four days to communicate with his superiors and then advised the Soviet army group that his orders from the general officer commanding the Polish underground army and from the Polish Government were to fight the Germans and co-operate to the end with the Soviet army. It is reported that the Polish underground army is carrying out largescale operations in the provinces of Vilna and Volhynia in the rear of the Germans. In Volhynia, Polish forces have established military co-operation with the Soviet army in the field in the course of successful operations which have resulted in many German prisoners, and large supplies of booty being taken.—B.O.W.
