D.F.C. WINNERS

For courageous fulfilment of duty and inspiring leadership in the face of enemy opposition Squadron Leader lan Waddy, R.N.Z.A.F. (Mrs. E. Waddy, The Waterfall, Seddon, mother), and Flight Lieutenant Peter MacG. Walker, R.N.Z.A.F. (Mrs. M. E. Walker, 8 Duart Avenue; Mt. Albert, Auckland, mother), have been awarded the D.F.C.

Fatal injuries were received by John Harold Gibson, a middle-aged farmer, of Kaimiro, when a tank stand on which he was working yesterday, collapsed and he was pinned beneath a 400-gallon tank full of water. A Press Association message says that he was dead when released.
