INVESTIGATION OF TIMOR
Rec. 9 a.m. LISBON, March 8. The Prime Minister, Dr. Salazar, announced that following negotiations between Portugal and Japan, a Portuguese envoy was going to Timor to inquire into the situation which had developed there since the Japanese landing. He added that the Government had long demanded this inquiry as a preliminary to negotiations for a solution of the incident created by the violation of Portuguese territory.
