Bombing and day and night fighter operations against enemy aircraft, attacks on many targets integrally concerned with enemy supply and com- i munication, and reconnaissances over enemy ports, harbours, and airfields, are some of the aerial tasks mentioned 'in the' citation to an award of' the Distinguished Flying Cross to Flight Lieutenant Olaf Olson, R.N.Z.A.F., formerly of Auckland. Born at Auckland in 1920, he was a science student at Auckland University College when he entered the R.N.Z.A.F. in 1941. He was commissioned at the conclusion of his training in New Zealand. His next-of-kin is his mother, Mrs. M. Olson, 85 Dominion Road. Mount Eden, Auckland.
