PILLAGE IN AUSTRALIA
Rec. 1 p.m. SYDNEY, March 7. . The losses by pillage from interState and overseas ships have been > about £250,000 in the past year, the .Acting Commonwealth Minister for Shipping, Dr. H. V. Evatt, told the War Cabinet. : It has been announced that the Federal Government will bear the cost •of cargo protection at Australian ports. Contributions towards the cost will be sought from the State Governments and other interested' bodies.
