BIRDS IN CAGES
Sir, — In answer to the letter signed "E.C." in Saturday's "Post." I cannot agree with him in regarding caged birds as prisoners. I myself have kept caged birds for some time now, and in my aviary I have a few wild birds. One of these birds got out the other week, and was out for an hour, and thejn went back of his own accord to his "prison behind the bars"; so this prison cannot be so bad. This has happened with others besides me. If "E.C." would care to get in touch with me I would be pleased to show him a few of these "prison camps." Some of our members go miles to get different wild seeds for their feathered friends. It is a great hobby.—l am, etc., W. BRUCE, Hon. Secretary, Wellington Canary and ' Cage Bird Club.
