GREENKEEPER ASSAULTED

A fire which started on the Boulcott links, Lower Hutt, oft January 4, spread to a market garden owned by George Ernest Englebrecht. Englebrecht and his wife, Emma Frances Englebrecht, becoming angered, assaulted the greenkeeper, Mr. P. Garlich. The initiative was taken by Mrs. Englebrecht. who struck the greenkeeper on the face, and her husband followed by hitting him on the face and kicking him on the shin. After a lengthy hearing of the cases in the Lower Hutt Court yesterday, Mr. W. C. Harley, S.M., fined Mrs. Englebrecht 10s and ordered her to pay half the expenses. Englebrecht was convicted and ordered to pay the balance of the expenses. _
