TROOPS IN NORWAY
CHANGE IN CHARACTER
It is reported from Norway that an extensive change has taken place in the character of German troops there. Young soldiers, and others seemingly well fit for combat duty, have been evacuated and have been replaced by typical occupation ' troops. These are for the most part very young and green, but also include many men of 50 years or older. In northern Norway all German soldiers from 20 to 37 years of age have been transferred to active service at the front. There has, however, been no noteworthy reduction in the number of German troops in Norway, but it has been established that the Germans in recent months have evacuated more war material than they have sent into the country.
