REFORMATIVE DETENTION
A sentence of 18 months' reformative detention was imposed by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today on Lorraine Pettybranch Jones, 26, waitress, who appeared on a charge of theft of a ring valued at £7 10s, the property of Viola Winifred Williams. It was stated by Senior-Ser-geant G. Paine that she had sold the ring for 10s. She was convicted and discharged on charges of being idle and disorderly, in that she had insufficient lawful means of- support, of failing to undertake and remain in employment as directed by the district man-power officer, and of failing to notify the district man-power officer of a change of address.
