NUMEROUS CHARGES
BROTHERS BEFORE COURT
Numerous charges involving two brothers, Edwin James Jarvis, boot repairer, 24, and Colin David Jarvis, seaman, 19, were preferred in the Magistrate's Court today before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M. For the conversion of a motor-cycle, valued at £80, on August 22, 1943, the property of Donnell James Boyle, Edwin James Jarvis was convicted and remanded for sentence, the joint charge against his brother for the same offence being dismissed. On a joint charge of stealing at Palmerston North on July 18 a Cairn terrier valued at £21, the property of Peter Mandival Moran, they were ■ remanded to appear, at Palmerston North. ■••.-■■ To nine charges against C. D; Jarvis, involving seven charges of thelt and two of conversion of motor-cars, pleas of guilty were entered by Mr. J. Scott, and the accused was remanded for sentence. To six charges of theft and one of conversion of a van he pleaded not guilty. After hearing evidence, Mr. Stout dismissed these charges.
