The Finance Ministry hopes for a two and- a half billion yen increase in Government revenue .by the end of the year from new levies on liquors and non-alcoholic beverages, sugar, textiles, playing-cards, stamps, entertainments, and restaurant charges., says the Tokio official radio. The radio declared: "While 1944 will be the decisive year of the war, that is not to say the war will be ended this year. The war will continue next year also, the broadcaster continued.. "As long as-the other side keeps at it, we must do the same, no matter for how many years." ____
