MENTION IN DISPATCHES

For good service in the attack on Salerno the King has approved of the | award of a mention in dispatches to Temporary Acting Lieutenant John Watson Tattersfield, R.N.Z.N.V.R., of Auckland. Advice of the award has been received from the Admiralty by the Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones). Lieutenant Tattersfield was born on September 4, 1916, and entered the Royal Navy on December 18, 1940, as an ordinary seaman, and was promoted to commissioned rank in the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve on September 18, 1942.
