WELLINGTON MAN'S LIFT j The appointment of Mr. E. Angus Jones, general manager for New Zealand of Vacuum Oil Company Pty., Ltd., to the board of directors of the company in Melbourne, has just been announced, and he will leave shortly for Australia.

Born and educated in .Christchurch, he joined the Vacuum Oil Company Pty., Ltd., Christchurch branch, as a salesman in Canterbury territory in 1928, and soon established himself as a coming executive. In 1932 he was appointed manager for Canterbury, and in 1935 spent some months in Melbourne, returning to New Zealand as assistant general manager. After a visit to America in 1938, he was appointed general manager for, New Zealand in 1939. He is the first New Zealander to be appointed to the! board of directors. Mr. Jones is widely known and respected, and is a popular member of the business community in Wellington.
