PHYSICIST'S CLAIM
Rec. 10.15 a.m. NEW YORK, Jan. 16 A noted Austrian refugee physicist, Felix Ehrenhaft, demonstrated to the American Physical Society experiments which he claimed to prove the existence of a pure magnetic current, reports the "New York Times." He explained that this means that not only electric but also magnetic currents flow through the universe. Prominent physicists declare that if the experiments are corroborated, it will mark one of the greatest revolutions of modern science, ranking with Faraday's discovery of the principle of the dynamo. It would also usher in n upw pi-r of technolosv by doubling iiS^bamJ^W^m^^; for every existing electrical machine we would be able to build a machine utilising a magnetic current. ' Ehrenhaffs experiments indicate the existence of single magnetic poles, which, when sufficiently small, may be described as magnetic ions. Such ions can be generated by friction, chemically, or by light, in the same manner as electric ions. •
