PAREMATA CLUB
The Parcmata Boating Club held monotype races yesterday for the club's trophy. The weather was ideal. There wero 28 competitors, and four heats and a final werß sailed, with the wind quite strong for the final and a solid beat to windward against the tide through the channel nt Shearer's Point this race was a real test. The club's last two representatives in tho Cornwell Cup, W. Montgomery and S. MCCatighey, soon established their superiority over the other finalists and had a close contest to the end, W. Montgomery eventually winning by less than a minute. Results Were as follows:—■ First Heat. — 3. Jamieson, Scamper, 1; B. Wrightson, Kahu, 2; W. McCaughey, Taire, 3. Second Heat.—W. Montgomery, Scamper, 1; O. Gestro, Robin, 2; J. Ginders, Ilene, 3. Third Heat.—S. McCaughey, Ilene, 1; W. Cortin, Scamper, 2; F. Harris, Falcon, 3. Fourth Heat.—J. Montgomery, Scamper, 1; L. Andrews, Ilene, 2; W. B. Ginders, Falcon, 3. Those gaining first places in the heats and the three best second-place winners contested the final, whk-h resulted: —W. Montgomery, Falcon, 1; S. McCaughey, Scamper, 2; J. Jamieson, Ilene, 3.
