Two- soldiers, J. J. O'Brien and James McCallum, were slightly injured when a car driven by Mr. J. R. M. Hastings collided with a power pole near Haywards on Saturday evening. The soldiers were taken to a military hospital. A further collision took place when a car following collided with Mr. Hastings's car, but no one was injured. A lighted cigarette butt thrown into some rubbish started a fire at the Church Book Store, kept by Mrs. A. S. Iliff, at 18 Mulgrave Street at 1 o'clock this morning. The fire brigade quelled the fire before any material damage
