AIR FORCE V. NAVY The New Zealand Air Force team to meet the Navy's representatives in a cricket match at tho Basin ttescrve next Friday and baturday has been selected, as follows:—R. Emery (captain)., C. Kerr, F. A. McVicar, E. Bezzant, J. B. Mahony, R. Crawford, W. H. Dustin, Langfgrd-Smith, N. Hoar, G. Lgmin,, and'D: Diiriiietf. The selectors were B. ae K. Worker and J. D, Mackay. FOUND IN CARRIAGE Shortly after 3 a.m. today William George Towler, labourer, 23, of leilding, was found by the police sleeping in a railway carriage in the Wellington railway yards. He appeared m the Magistrate's Court this morning, charged with being found in an enclosed area, but in circumstances that did not disclose the commission or the intention to commit any other offence, and was sentenced by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., to a month's imprisonment with hard labour. CARILLON RECITAL A recital will be given on the National War Memorial Carillon, Buckle Street, Wellington, by automatic player tomorrow afternoon. Commencing at 3 o'clock, the following programme will be played:—"Rock of Ages," "Men of Harlech," "Cradle Song" (Brahms), "Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms, "Lead, Kindly Light," "Allan Water, "God Defend New Zealand," and the National Anthem. BASIN RESERVE CARNIVAL. The R.S.A. carnival at the Basin Reserve will conclude this evening, when a special feature will be the iWestport Boys' Band in a number of band items. The band has come to Wellington with an excellent reputation. There will be open-air dancing besides the speedway, chairoplane, and j merry-go-round. Among other attractions there will be an island hula ballet.
