NEW BLOW BY ARMY PLANES

WASHINGTON, December 16. ' Heavy bombers of the United States Seventh Air Force yesterday struck at Taroa and Wotje, in the Marshall Islands, states a Navy Department communique. More than 40 tons of bombs damaged installations on both islands. I At Taroa, where damage was inflicted on buildings and storage spaces, the bombers were attacked by 30 Zeros, two of which were shot down, eight probably dei|royed, and eight damaged. One American bomber was lost and several damaged. At Wotje, where fires were observed as a result of bombing, the raiders were not damaged.
